New data: Bitcoin has moved $11 trillion since 2009

Bitcoin (BTC) has transferred $11 trillion in wealth since it was first launched in 2009, according to new calculations.

Bitcoin "Going Strong" at $9.6 billion a day

The latest bitcoin aggregate statistics uploaded to social media by analyst Plan Bee on October 24 th.

Currently, the network processes about $9.6 billion a day. At this rate, Bitcoin exceeds PayPal's annual transaction volume of $578 billion for 2018 - in just two months.

Plan Pi has used the full Bitcoin node to verify transaction data. The figures confirm continued interest in Bitcoin, despite the bearish price movement in the second half of 2019.

Can Bitcoin bypass a MasterCard visa within 10 years?

Its ability to overcome alternatives to major banknotes including Visa and MasterCard is not new at the same time. As Quintigraph reported in April, new research suggested that Bitcoin could outperform major paper currency payments by 2029.

"In just 10 years, Bitcoin has been able to compete with the pioneers of the payment system industry. Bitcoin's development is happening dramatically," the analytics firm DataLite concluded at the time.

In the future, as the development of out-of-chain expansion solutions such as the speeding lightning network brings new developments, less and less activity will occur in Bitcoin on the blockchain. This, as commentators have noted, should ensure that current mass sizes are commensurate with demand.
